Sean and Stephanie {Wedding}
As a second-shooter, it was decided that I should go to the ceremony and reception site early and get pictures of all the details and decorators, as well as the guests.
Now if you know Stephanie and Sean, you know that they love woodsy, fantasy-themed things, elves, magical things, the like. I love it. And you know what? Their wedding was made to look like something you would see from one of those wonderful books! Beautiful river rocks, large leaves as placemats, table names being large cities from fantasy and real life, fish bowls and candles, chopsticks, and lovely fans. =)
Each guest had their names written by the bride and groom in Japanese on a pair of chopsticks, which the guests then took home with them. In the middle of the table, hanging on a lovely branch, was a chime that you would ring when you wanted the married couple to kiss. =) So cute!
The playlist for the wedding was the best I ave heard. Songs from Ever After, Braveheart, and so many other amazing movies. And the dance party to take place afterwards...wow. I want it. =D
When Sean and Stephanie first started courting, he made her a snowglobe with a couple embracing inside. The globe broke, but the couple remained whole, and was used as the centerpiece for their lovely wedding cake. =)
The guest table had beautiful pieces of paper that guests would write a message or wishes on, and then stick in a large book box for the couple to treasure forever.
And guests were given the opportunity to use the 'Knight Light' and spray bugspray on themselves. =D
After walking around, I came back to the ceremony spot and the groomsmen found me. It was decided that while Elise got pics of the girls, I would get the guys. That was a really fun shoot. These guys are so loose and relaxed, they are random, funny, and great to get pictures of! They kept on talking about different 'crazy' pose ideas, and then carrying them out. haha x) They were great, a wonderful 'first guy group' I have done for a wedding.
Sean had this idea in mind. It was really neat how he was getting all these cool picture ideas. I had something like this in mind, and when he mentioned it, and got the guys into poses, it all came out wonderfully. =)
And, like I said, they were talking about poses to do. Walking was one of them. x)
A picture of the eager groom, very ready to see and marry his soul-mate. =)
Oh, I am getting so excited!! Stephanie and the girls got ready at their house, and came down to the wedding site a little while before it started. They were completely hidden by the trees as they walked to the alter location, and it was so magical seeing them walk the pace of graceful elves, the bride being the princess. =)
And when Sean saw her, his face lit up like you wouldn't believe. It was magical when she came down.
The ceremony was wonderful. When some friends were singing a song (Two is Better Than One), Sean and Stephanie were singing it to each other. They seemed to be oblivious of their surroundings. =)
=) After the vows, the man who married them was having a wonderful time soaking in the moment of being able to hold off the kiss, telling us how he enjoyed being able to tell the groom he could kiss her. =D
And when he finally let them, they did, and it was magical...
Directly after the ceremony we had the pictures taken, as it was getting very dark. But let me tell you, Elise and I didn't even need to pose these two lovebirds. They were in each others arms, smiling, holding each other, kissing. They could not not be cute. =)
heheh These guys are awesome. lol x)
You may have noticed it in the previous pictures, but if you didn't, let me tell you now. Stephanie's bouquet was glowing. That is right! A few calla lilies, a couple ferns, a blue rose, and some lights. It was like a bouquet fresh out of Avatar, but made for an elven princess.
And she herself was the elven princess, so beautiful, graceful, joyful, and her dress was just gorgeous!
The guests watched the ceremony at their tables, and then continued on in their seats for the chinese food that was served afterwards. =)
The lovely couple was just too adorable not to get pictures of randomly. Oh my goodness.
The first dance was a song from a play or opera, I believe, and their dancing was so cute! They would do a few rocks, hug, just look at each other, rock some more, then he would pick her up at swing her around, ending in a kiss. =) =)
After the first dance and father-daughter dance (My Girl was the song =D), they had a really awesome swing dancing time, then awesome dance songs. =D It was amazing. Just amazing. x) And look! A pic with the flash of a guest's camera in it!!
Thank you so very much, Sean and Stephanie, for letting me help document your beautiful, special day! You did such a tremendous job on the decorations and details, and made it a wonderful, unique wedding, one I am sure none of us will forget. You certainly made the best first wedding for me to do, and am so honored to have been able to help photograph it!! I wish you two many, many years together, full of happiness and love. =)

Really amazing shots, Kirstin! Especially the ones of the guys.
Good to have come across this post! I am also getting married next month in one of the finest Los Angeles event venues. I would love to share the pictures with you as well, because I am guessing that there will be a lot of similarity between this wedding and mine.
